Steel tape comes with reinforced starting point.
This is the toughest combination of materials possible and is extra durable for all purpose.
These tapes are resistant to water and temperature extremes and will never crack or stretch.
It comes printed with CM and M.

Open reel measuring tapes are easier to clean and allows for a longer length of tape while being economical.
These come with a spike that can be used for stabilising during measurements.

Closed reel measuring tapes have an enclosure for the entire roll of tape and increases the durability. 

Both types of tapes have a winding lever that brings the tape back into the reel.
